Welcome...

hello and welcome to our self build diary...
...we are Michelle and Christian, first time self builders with lots of enthusiasm and energy,
but unfortunately little knowledge of building, limited skills and a tight budget! But thank-
fully we come armed with a great sense of humour and plenty of biscuits!

the story begins....
it all started when I (Michelle) went to the dentist just before Christmas 2004 and
started flicking through a self build
magazine. I'd always dreamed of designing
and building my own house, but thought that it was far too expensive for us normal folk ... I was amazed at the pricing in the mag and that we could actually afford to do it and so my new years resolution at the start of 2005 was to build a house...

... it is now September 2007 and we are ready to start building ... and record our progress week by week on these web pages...
